Purple Peace

Good afternoon everyone!  Another post today as I'm busy making Christmas cards.  I made this one a couple of nights ago using a stamp set from PTI called Snowflake Serenade.  Bazzill card stock, some ribbon  and a button from stash, CTMH ink, Sakura Stardust pen.  Easy peasy and oh so pretty!

12 Days of Christmas Betty Style - Day 3

Good morning all!  It's time for another fun round of challenges at Simply Betty Challenges!  We've moved on to Day 3...
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree your branches are so dry and creepy!
So you can guess what the challenge is, right?  Using any SBS image incorporate a creepy Christmas tree! Just think Emo! I think if it were up to our youth there would be ornaments with bats, skulls and spiders! Make it cute, make it scary whatever you do, just make it a Creepy Christmas Tree!

I used none other than Rio Trimming the Tree from the Emo Christmas line.  She was perfect for this challenge!  I used a digi DP, tree and then decorated it with some skulls and other goodies before printing it out.  Colored with Copics, CTMH Liquid Glass, Spica clear glitter marker, silver paint pen, card stock from stash.

Be sure to visit the Simply Betty Challenge blog to check out the rest of the awesome projects made for your inspiration!  :O)

Whatcha Got Cookin'?

Hi there people!  I'm late, but I'm here with my challenge post for Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog.  This next 2 weeks we are having ourselves a recipe challenge!  You MUST use any Doodle Dragon Studios image, embossing (heat or dry), bling and metal.  This challenge runs through Saturday, December 11th!

I used one of the adorable Christmas peekers for my card.  For the embossing:  CB folder on the DP (it's hard to see), nestie is embossed, sentiment & bear's nose are heat embossed.  For the bling:  jewel brads, Stickles on the Santa hat, DP is glittery.  For the metal:  jewel brads, prezzie charm.

Come on over and join us and see the other amazing projects from the DT!

12 Days of Christmas Betty Style - Day 2

Good morning, crafty bleeps!  We're on to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas at Simply Betty Challenges.  Here's what today looks like:

You're a mean one Mr. Grinch! Create a Chaotic Grinchy Christmas scene with any of the Emos!

I used Bahumbug Christian for my card...how could I not?  Look at his face!  I was originally going to make him green and grinchy as soon as I saw this image, but I never got around to using him for the release.  I used some hoarded SEI DP and a past sketch from Mojo Monday.

Stop by the Simply Betty Challenges blog and see what the other girls have been up to...and play along!

Meowy Christmas!

***Please scroll down for my 12 Days of Christmas post for Simply Betty Stamps!  Thank you!***

Good morning again!  It's Saturday, and you know what that means!  Time for another sketch challenge at Unscripted Sketches!  I saw this one and knew it was meant to be a layout for me...surprise, right?  LOL!  I just flipped it over for my sample.

I used the uber cute Kitty Note and the Christmas Hat digital images from Wink Wink Ink for my replica of Salem.  I merged them in Photoshop CS2.  This hat is so fun because you can add it to any animal, person or stamp!  Now that's versatility!  Not to mention it's just $1.50!  Woohoo!  WWI is also having a Winter Bundle Sale right now...it includes 5 complete stamp sets and the Christmas Hat image for $20!  Don't forget that these come in B&W for you to color PLUS colored versions (perfect for when you're low on time)!

Don't forget to check out the US Blog to see what the other talented DT members made this week!  :O)

New Release at Simply Betty Stamps!

Good morning everyone!  Happy Hump Day and Thanksgiving Eve!  Who's ready for turkey and pumpkin pie?  I know I am!  :O)  Better yet...who's ready for a new release at Simply Betty Stamps?  I knew you would be!!!  A fun new line called Sweet Gothic World Kids will leave you feeling satisfied...with none of calories!  Check them out for their premier on the Simply Betty Challenges Blog!

Without further adeu, I introduce you to Tilly and Alex!  Doesn't she look just like she's wishing for her very own Edward?  Wish granted, girlfriend...there's Alex showing up in her daydream.  I did most of this card in Photshop.  I printed the panel, did a little coloring, gave it a good dose of Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer, double matted it, added the ribbon and gave some extra sparkle with some Stickles.

Next up we have Sally.  What a diva!  I love her and those fun shaped balloons!  I decided to go out of my comfort zone on this one and do an easel card.  I have made one before this and it could hardly be called finished (though I was pretty happy with it at the time).  I keep seeing all these amazing easel cards and decided I was going to try it out.  Wow!  It took FOREVER to finish and it's pretty heavy after all the layers were added.  I used some of my favey Olivia DP from Basic Grey and the sketch at Taylored Expressions.  I even added a little stitched pocket where I added a tag for a note and a gift card!  I'm telling you, I am pleased with myself over this puppy!  Oh, take a look at that charm!  :O)

You can purchase these sweeties right now at the SBS Shop!  Don't forget to peek in to see what the rest of the team have up their sleeves...visit the SBC Blog to check it out!

If you came by way of NICOLE'S fabby blog, you haven't missed a beat!  If not, hop back over to the Simply Betty Challenges blog to start out!

Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings
My boys (this includes my hubby, son and Dad) always ask for these for any occasion!  They are a hit!

*Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2 cans crescent rolls...I used Pillsbury 8 count cans in original flava.
2 small to medium apples...more on the medium side.
2 sticks butter...I don't skimp.  (The original recipe says you can use margarine, but what's the point anyway?  I shouldn't be making these for the holidays what with being on a diet, but don't think I'm passing it up!)
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon...I use double this amount.
1 can Mountain Dew

*Core and slice apples into 8 pieces (I removed the skins as well).
*Wrap each in a crescent triangle. I basically just tried my best to get every inch of the apple covered by the dough.
*Line them up in 2 rows in the center of a 9x13 inch pan.
*Melt butter, cinnamon, and sugar together. I just nuked the butter and then stirred in the sugar and cinnamon until it had a pretty smooth, pourable consistency.
*Pour the butter mixture directly on top of the apples...use it all!
*Pour the Dew around the perimeter of the pan.
*Bake for 45 minutes.
*Eat warm with a scoop, or 3, of vanilla ice cream.  YUMMY!

Easy Peanut Brittle

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1 cup roasted salted peanuts (I use dry roasted.)
1 Tbs. butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda

*Stir sugar and corn syrup together.
*Microwave on high for 4 minutes...the bowl (and the mixture) will be HOT!  Be careful!
*Stir in peanuts and microwave on high another 3-5 minutes (I only do 2 minutes here) or until lightly brown.
*Add butter and vanilla and mix well.  This smells SO good!
*Microwave on high for 1 additional minute.
*Add baking soda and stir until light and foamy.
*Immediately pour onto a buttered cookie sheet.
>>>If you like your peanut brittle with a lighter texture with lots of air in it, DO NOT shake the cookie sheet to move the mixture around!<<<
*After it's hardened (usually about 10 minutes), break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Now hop on over to MEREDITH'S blog to see what kind of goodies she's got a recipe for!  :O)

Anita Be Stampin Blog Hop Gets Unscripted!

Welcome to the Anita Be Stampin Winter Digi Release and Blog Hop!

If you've arrived from Joni's blog you're on the right track!  If you only stopped by to see what's going on with me (Awwww, shucks!  Thank you!), then be sure to start right back at the beginning on the Anita Be Stampin Blog...you don't want to miss any of the inspiration!

All of the new digi images are available NOW at Anita Be Stampin, and we are celebrating by having a blog hop filled with inspiration.  Be sure to visit all of the stops on the blog hop today and leave a comment, because one lucky winner who comments on EVERY blog along the way will win the entire digi release!  Woohoo!

The first image I used for you today is called Aspen.  She's so sweet all bundled up in her fluffy coat.  I decided to make a digital layout with her.  The photos are from my front door last December.  One minute there was absolutely NO precipitation...then we had a bit of rain and about an hour later this is what I see!  See the icicle hanging from the Christmas lights in the little photo?  You gotta love the weather in Kansas City!

The next image I used is called Sasha.  So carefree!  I love this image!  I paper pieced her hat and scarf with some snowflake paper.  I made the flower using some nesties and added snowflakes all around.  Those of you who come by often will know that I have a thing for snowflakes and snowmen!  :O)  The stamped sentiment is by PTI.

The last card I have for you today uses Angeline.  How beautiful is she?  This card combines my ABS post with my Unscripted Sketches post.   I followed sketch #82 for today's US challenge...be sure to head over and check out what the other girls did!  On this one I tried my hand at watercoloring with distress inks.  Obviously I need some more practice, though I do think it's ok.  I went a little Stickle crazy and put it on just about everything...I do love my bling, you know!  The sentiment is one that I made in Photoshop...love it!

That's it for me!  I hope that you liked my projects and I thank you for stopping by.  Now it's time to hop on to the lovely and talented Rachel's Blog!

Remember to leave a comment on every blog on the hop today for your chance to win all of the ABS digi images released today.  Here is the list of all of the stops on the hop today, just in case you get lost along the way.
