Back to School Sassiness

Hello again! I just wanted to let you all know that tomorrow is release day for the Back to School digis at Sassy Studio Designs. Lindsay has out done herself...again! If you have any kiddos who are going back to school, these are absolutely wonderful! Tonight at 12:01, 12:02 & 12:03 AM PST (2:01, 2:02 & 2:03 AM CST) there will posts going up at the SSD blog...these will include a note about the new release images, games and challenges! Be sure to check back tomorrow, first thing!

The Digi Shack Challenge #20

Hello everyone! I know I've been MIA for a while. We had some electrical issues here that we had to take care of. While that was going on the electricians we hired cut our Road Runner (cable internet) line and we were without the internet!!! Yikes!!! Talk about withdrawals! ;O) So today I am posting the current challenge for The Digi Shack. We have a Color combo for you this time! Back to School...

Today is the first day of 7th grade for my son, Jacob. He's in a new district, so he doesn't know anyone yet. I have been more worried than he has, but today was it. I wanted him to know I was thinking of him and that we know he'll do great today, so I made him a little card with a Dustin Pike digi image. He grinned really big when I gave it to him this morning. :O)

The Digi Shack Challenge is in the BAG!!!

Happy Thursday! Today is the weekly challenge for The Digi Shack! This weeks challenge is a special one. Toni not only owns TDS, but also owns Kharlie Bug, which is her line of handbags and all things fabric. The store just launched less than three weeks ago after a year long break from sewing. So this weeks challenge is all about Kharlie Bug! Basically you’ll click on her etsy store, pick an item you LOVE and use it as inspiration for your creation. It can be that you love the colors, the print, the style, the shape, anything that inspires you.

I made this little box for my DD to keep special keepsakes in from her BFF's. What better image for it than a super sweet girl chewing BUBBLE GUM?





I love this card...I'm partial to red headed girls with piggy tails. I love this paper, though I have NO idea who makes it! I got it in a RAK and I'm dying to get some more. If any of you have any idea who makes this paper, gimme a shout! The colors and glittery goodness got me! I hope you love Sweet BUBBLE GUM girl as much as I do!

The Digi Shack Blog Hop Stop!

Hello everyone! This is the next stop for The Digi Shack's Blog Hop! If you came from Kemi's blog, you're right on track! If not, you might want to start at the beginning (The Digi Shack) so you don't miss out on anything! I have 2 samples of new releases for you today. The first is a super cute pair of shoes...who couldn't use that?

I used Kaiser Crafts DP and some cream cardstock. I printed the image 3 times, once on each color (cream - I added the sentiment to this one, dots, brown). I cut out the sections I wanted from the brown and dotted DP and glued to the cream stock. I distressed the edge with Chocolate ink from CTMH and glued that to my striped DP. I colored the tags on the soles of the shoes with a gold metallic pen and the heel with a copic marker. I added Kaiser pearls to the corner.

The second image I have is for a New Year Celebration. :O)
I used copic markers to color in the image. I matted it on gold mettalic cardstock and adhered those onto the purple DP by DCWV. I added 4 rhinestones in coordinating colors to give a little sparkle to the card. Lastly, I added Liquid Glass (Crystal Effects) to the lenses of the glasses and the champagne bottle. Easy peasy! I hope you enjoyed my samples!

***So here is my question to you...having seen those super cute pumps...how many pairs of shoes do YOU have? My hubby is appalled by the number of shoes I have and I have even gone through them this summer and weeded some out! MEN! I have 52 pairs. That just a small collection. ;O)***

Sassy Sweetness & Release Party Info

Good evening (said in my best Dracula voice)! I just wanted to pop on and let you all know that there is a Sassy Studio Designs release party going on tomorrow for the absolutely amazing Sweet Shoppe line! You are not going to want to miss this! :O) Here are SOME of the deets:

Tonight at 1 minute past midnight Pacific Standard Time USA the party blog will open (there will be a link on the SSD blog so just hop over there for that info). At the opening of the Party Blog there will be 2 Challenges posted! This gives some of us night owls some time to create early, or maybe our friends over in Australia a chance to join in.
The Party though will not begin until 10 AM Pacific Standard Time USA tomorrow morning (Saturday the 15th) and will go through until 4pm.
We will announce a game at 10:05 AM PST USA
and throughout the day we will have random things going on like mini challenges, games, freebies, etc.
The images WILL NOT be available in the store until AFTER the party is over at 4 pm PST
so check back after midnight for more details and a link to the party blog so you can start those challenges!

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday! :O) I got my son all signed up for football today...phew! Glad that's done! He starts school next Thursday! How exciting!

Hello all! It's Wednesday and you know what that means! Another Flutter By Wednesday over at Danni's Dreams! This week is an open challenge...all you have to do is use a faerie or butterfly anywhere on your project! I didn't make my card until last night and I have to say, I sat staring at the paper waiting for inspiration to strike. I tried a bajillion different things and this is what I came up with. Not very inspiring, but it's cute enough, I think. ;O)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Hello everyone, and a Happy Monday to you! It's happy because I took my son to the dentist today and he's been a good boy! No cavities! Woohoo!

Today I made a super cute card (even if I do say so myself) for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. They challenged us to use buttons and bows...not too bad. I used some new paper from We R Memory Keepers and a super-dee-duper cute digi image from Sassy Studio Designs. The digi stamp will be released this Saturday! Mojo Monday Sketch PLUS Sweet Shoppe Sneak!

Happy Saturday to you all! I have finally made a card using the sketch from Mojo Monday. The sketches over there are brilliant! ;O) I am using a Sassy Studio Designs digi stamp called Popcorn Girl. She, among others, will be released on August 15th in the Sweet Shoppe line. We'll be having a big party on the 15th for the release, so be sure to stop by for more deets! Here is the sketch...

And here's my take on it. I try so hard to do black hair, but it never comes out right. I need to check out a tutorial in a bad way! I tried to make this one with highlights in her hair, but it definitely looks better this way! LOL! Know of a great tut for coloring black hair? Shoot me a message!

Sassy Sweets Challenge!

Hello lovelies! Yesterday was the start of Sassy Studio Designs newest challenge! Shame on me for not posting until today! Lindsay was kind enough to give us all another FREEBIE image to use! It's a sweet treat that we ALL love! This image will only be available for free through August 14th when the challenge ends. So what is this weeks challenge, you ask?

1) use the free cupcake image

2) use bling! (we love bling here at SSD)

3) you must have some sort of 3-D element on your creation

4) post your creation online, post a comment on Sassy Studio Designs' challenge post with a direct link to your creation before midnight PST 8/14/09.

A winner will be selected and will get FOUR of our awesome new sweet treats images from our release we are having on August 15th!

On the icing I used liquid applique, added pink glitter while it was wet and then heat set. On the cherry I cut out a second one, pop dotted it and added liquid glass.On the liner I cut out a second one, colored it, folded along the lines (peak and valley) and adhered to the top of the other.
