The 6th Day of Halloween...SBS

Good evening (said in my best Dracula voice)!  I whipped up a card for the 6th day of Halloween challenge over at Simply Betty Stamps.  It's due tonight, so I had to post one more time!  :O)

I used LondonPumpkin for my card.  I also used the sketch for Card Patterns and the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.  I colored her with my trusty Copics and I now know I am in desperate need of a C5 refill!  I also used nesties, Echo Park DP, ribbon from stash, button embellie by K&Co, Zva flourish bling, pop dots, TH distress ink in black soot.  What do you think of this card?  I really am loving London!  :O)

Other Challenges:

All Hallow's Eve...MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hello there, guys and ghouls!  I hope you're all having a fantastical weekend!  It's time for another challenge at Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog!  Our current challenge is all about HALLOWEEN!  Make any project, use a DDS image and make it spooky and you could be out next winner!

I happen to love Halloween...it might be my favorite holiday!  :O)  Everything ghoulish and spooky...yeah!  I made a digital layout using Dustin's cute little spider hanging from his web.  Isn't this fun?

This challenge runs through Saturday, October 30th.  Be sure to link up your project at the DDS challenge blog so we can come visit you!  Can't wait to see all the spookiness you come up with!  :O)

Music Saves My Soul 5

Good morning everyone!  Another week gone by and time for another video post for Music Saves My Soul...
Metallica is my FAVORITE!  This song is my favorite one of theirs...hubby and I used it in our wedding even!  :O)  Think that's strange?  Not really...listen to the words.  It's really beautiful and it makes me uber happy!

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trust in who we are
And nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Happy, Happy Birthday!

Good morning, lovelies!  Another week has come and gone...it's time for the Showcase Showdown at The Digi Shack!  Be sure to stop by and see what all my teamies created!  We have some awesome images...some are only ONE DOLLAR!

I made up a digi scrapbook layout of my great nephew, Conan's 1st birthday.  He's too cute!  What better image to go along with his pictures than this cute robot by artist Brian Lock?  This digital image is just $2!  :O)

Witchin' Candy Container

Hello everyone!  I'm here with a quick post today to show you a little treat container I made.  The sun is out and I still have plenty of painting to do on the garage!

I found a free printable milk carton template on the internet (not sure where).  I printed it on my DP and set out cutting and scoring the lines.  Pretty simple, really!  I colored my Broomhilda image from Anita Be Stampin and cut it out using my nesties.  Punched a hole and tied it up with a ribbon.  Easy peasy!  Isn't it so cute?  I believe that DP is from Echo Park...loving it!  :O)

Have a witchin' day, people!

Prayers and Help for the Payne Family

A post from Summer's Blog...if you can help in any way at all...

"My heart feels heavy for a mother out there that I met 9 years ago. Her name is Joy Payne. I always thought it was funny that her name was an oxymoron. But at this time, she does not feel the joy, only the pain. One of my dear friends (who is best friends with Joy) wrote this:

"Our best friends Tom and Joy Payne just had their 3rd child, Easton, who is now 3 months old. He was born with dwarfism, a mild case of Pierre Robin syndrome (where the lower jaw is too small and the tongue blocks the throat), and a cleft soft palette (which also causes airway obstruction). This baby has a tracheostomy and a feeding tube in his stomach. They feed him every 3 hours around the clock and must suction out the tracheostomy when he spits up—which is almost constantly. You can imagine that with this challenge, they get zero sleep. They are up around the clock managing him. At the time he was born they also had two other children to take care of.
This, of course, turned their lives upside down. They have been working with the state to be approved for 24-hour nursing care. This will not take effect until the middle of November, they are told.
However, to add to the trial that they are facing, when Easton was 11 weeks old, their 3-year old son Jaxon drowned.
They now face the overwhelming costs associated with her hospitalization from the pre-term birth of Easton, his immense medical bills, AND the ambulance, life-flight, hospital and burial costs from Jaxon’s death. …Along with the horrible pain, grief and guilt that comes with losing a child this way…
Their insurance covers no nursing costs. 4 days after the funeral of Jaxon, they woke in the night ready for one of Easton’s feedings as his emergency alarms started sounding. He was not breathing and had no pulse—Tom, his father had to revive him by doing infant chest compressions and CPR into the hole in his throat.
They cannot keep living this way until the red tape clears for their nursing care to kick in. Being this physically exhausted is extremely detrimental to their emotional healing and they are terrified that “another child will die on our watch”.
We’re asking for any donations you can give so that this family can pay for a night nurse for the next month until the state care begins. Prices can range from $3,000-5,000. We’d also like to help them cover all the other medical and funeral bills that are piling up. Please give whatever you can to this amazing family. They have been through so much hardship, and it tears us up to not be able to give them whatever money they need. PLEASE HELP US LIFT THEIR BURDEN SLIGHTLY AND GIVE THEM HOPE. Thank you."

I cannot imagine losing a son, and simultaneously trying to care for a newborn with such health concerns. I just cannot imagine the pain. It is tiresome enough to have a newborn. I am at a loss. So, I decided to throw together a quick kit called "Easton" in hopes of raising some money to help this amazing family. Please say prayers for them. And if you feel that you can donate some money, please feel free to do so using my donate button. I will accept donations until one week from now (Sunday, October 17th). When you donate through PayPal, please leave a note that says "Easton" so that I know that's what it's for.   Thank you!"

Here is a picture of sweet Easton:

And here is a picture of Joy and her family. The little boy, Jaxon, is the one who they lost from the drowning:

Music Saves My Soul...

***This is my 3rd post today.  Please scroll down to see my Wild Flower Patch & The Digi Shack posts!***

This is something fun I found while blurfing this morning.  I am going to try to participate in this every week.  Music Saves My Soul Saturday #3.
I first saw Storm Large on Rock Star Super Nova (TV Show) and have loved her ever since.  A true rocker!  I love this song!

Holiday Treats!

***This is my 2nd post today.  Please scroll down to see my Digi Shack post!***

Good morning once again and Happy Hump Day!  Another week has come and gone already...man, does time fly!  With another Wednesday rolling around, it means another challenge at The Wild Flower Patch!  This week's challenge is the simplest yet...anything goes as long as you use a WFK image!  She has a freebie up on the WFP blog for you to use, for a limited time!  Woohoo!  NO reason whatsoever not to play along with us, right?

I used the image called Candy Cane and made the 2 criss-cross each other on my layout.  This was a photo of our "breakfast" on Christmas morning last year.  We have a huge family meal at lunch time, so we just have a little something in the morning.  These have quickly become a favorite at our house (though we may have to lose the M&M's this year since I have now lost 45 pounds)!  There is nothing better than a treat and hot cocoa on Christmas morning...while it's still quiet and peaceful!

Remember, this week ANYTHING GOES, so come on over and join the fun!  You could be the next winner!  Check out the rest of the creations from the awesome design team!  :O)

Seriously...What?

Good morning bleeps!  It's time for another Showcase Showdown at The Digi Shack.  Today I used one of Brian Lock's fabu images and made him all about Halloween.  Not typical, but everyone at my house got a belly laugh out of it.  I really thought I was using a current Sweet Sunday Sketch, after all, I just saw it this past weekend and saved it.  Come to find out it's one of the first sketches...posted back in May!  LOL!  Oh well!

Have a great day!

Hey Sugar!

Good morning everyone!  A quick post for you this AM...Anita Be Stampin is now open for business and we're looking for a few enthusiastic design team members.  Check out the post HERE for all the details!  You know you want to!

While I'm here I'll show you a quick little treat box that I made up last night.  I got the box and such from a friend in one of my Yahoo scrapbooking groups...thanks Anna!  I believe it's a Sizzix die she used for it.  Perfect size for a sweet treat!  I used one of the sentiment stamps from Rosie's Sweets at Anita Be Stampin on the label.  Sorry about the terrible photos...maybe I can retake them later.  You get the idea!  I added some caramels for the treat...for my "sugar!"  I also entered this into Julie Elak's Challenge at Do More with Less.

Have a great day!  :O)

Good morning, crafty bleeps!  How was your weekend?  I hope all went well and your ready to face the new week refreshed!

I used the newly released Season's Tweetings for my card...I immediately fell in love with this set!  I do have a thing for snowmen, you know!  I have to say I am thrilled with the way the card turned out!  I used real buttons for his eyes (they were drawn as buttons anyway) and a button on top of the flower as well.  I also decided to make a tassel for his hat out of embroidery thread.  Cool. huh?  I colored the image and sentiment with Copics.  I also used a corner rounder, Xmas Red Stickles, Tim Holtz distress ink in Walnut Stain, Prima flower, flower punch, Basic Grey Jovial DP, pop dots, buttons and embroidery thread from stash.  I used the current sketch at Taylored Expressions and I love it!  What do you think of my card today?
